#SVW2018 Competition

Have you been volunteering whilst at UoN? Be it via a student group, one of the projects featured on our website or another local community project?

To enter our amazing student volunteering competition, share your stories and photos of volunteering on social media using #SVW2018 and tag the Student Union Volunteer Team in your post (@UoNSUVolunteer for Twitter Student Volunteer Centre – University of Nottingham Students’ Union for Facebook).

Competition closes Sunday 25 February 2018.

Community Officer Ellie Mitchell will be choosing her favourite volunteer story and 3 runners up to win:

  • 1st prize £50 Portland Clothing Co. voucher
  • 3 x £10 Portland Coffee Co vouchers for the runners up

Info and training session with Out in Education

6th February 2018

For almost five years, Out in Education has aimed to educate school pupils and teachers about LGBT+ identities, consent and healthy relationships. We run assemblies and workshops in primary and secondary schools all over Nottingham. By visiting these schools, our volunteers improve young people’s knowledge of differing identities and help countless students understand their own identity as well! This reduces bullying and promotes self-confidence and last year, we won Project of the Year at the SU Volunteering Awards for all our good work. If you’d like to help make this huge difference to pupils’ lives with us, attend our training session to learn about what volunteering is like and the kind of content we cover in schools. Once you’ve attended the training session, you’ll be able to attend any school visits that fit around your busy schedule. So come along, learn what we do and what a huge difference you could be making!

This training session will give you a greater insight into the way we work and how incredibly rewarding it is to volunteer with us!

CoppaFeel – Awareness Doughnut Campaign in Halls

Nottingham Uni Boob Team are making their way around halls on campus to spread awareness about the charity CoppaFeel! and talk all things boobs. Our aim is to get as many people as possible to sign up to our FREE monthly boob check text reminder service. Sign up and you’ll receive a FREE doughnut, it really is that simple! As well as a FREE doughnut you’ll also find out more about CoppaFeel!, what we do and how you can get involved. So come join us from 5.30-8pm in the following halls: Cavendish, Willoughby, Ancaster, Rutland, Hugh Stewart and Sherwood.
